Hi, I'm Travis, the Technical Support Manager at Customer.io. I’m looking for Technical Support Engineers to join our growing team.
As a Technical Support Engineer you’ll be communicating directly with our customers via our Support Center. Our team is especially excited to hear from folks with Technical Support backgrounds with experience communicating technical tasks mostly over email - a strong ability to communicate in writing is more than nice-to-have.
On a day to day, you’ll triage a diversity of support tickets as well as work on process improvement, and conduct regular touch points with our Product and Customer Success teams. You'll also help new and existing customers get up and running in our product, diagnose tricky situations and aid companies in achieving their business goals. Our TSE's have contact with more customers than anyone else in the company, so you’re our secret sauce to ensure we provide a remarkable customer experience. Our customers are core to everything we do (it’s in our name!) - so it's key to bring your passion for customers and help solve their problems to advocate for product improvements.
Today, our Technical Support team is powered by Help Scout for ticketing, Github Issues for bug tracking, and Zapier for automating support team workflows. While we mostly interact with each other through Notion and Slack, it’s not uncommon for us to jump on a Zoom pairing session or a video call to clarify customer scenarios or share tips to remedy customer issues.
Interested in growth opportunities? So are we. Our Technical Support Team has a variety of career paths, such as to our Engineering, Product, or Customer Success Teams. We're in search of folks who want to develop professionally as Customer.io grows.
Our mission at Customer.io is to power automated communication that people like to receive. Today over 3,200 internet businesses use Customer.io to manage, send, and track performance of email, SMS, and push notifications. Unlike typical marketing platforms, Customer.io helps businesses increase relevance by using behavioral data: what people do or don’t do when logged in to a web or mobile app.
We are offering a starting salary of $70,000 USD subject to global market rate adjustment.
Benefits at Customer.io include:Unlimited PTO - we recommend 20 vacation days (in addition to holidays and sick days) so that you can unwind, unplug, and recharge 100% medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance for you and your dependents 12 weeks paid parental leave - for birth, adoption, or foster care 401k retirement matching - up to 5% dollar for dollar match to retirement contributions Health and wellness allowance - Up to $200 USD per month that can be used for your healthy living needs, including gym membership, acupuncture, massage, or bike repairs Home office stipend - Up to $2,000 USD to help you get your home office set up so you can do your best work Internet + cell phone reimbursement - Up to $200 USD per month for your internet and cell phone plans Co-working space reimbursement - Up to $300 USD per month for those times you'd prefer to work in a co-working environment Learning + development - Up to $2,000 USD reimbursement per year to use on conferences, books, classes, or workshops - anything that will help you develop your skills 1 month paid sabbatical after four years at Customer.io - to treat yourself to a vacation, or spend however you choose Company retreats twice a year - we typically get together IRL every spring and fall, but most recently had an amazing virtual retreat! Customer.io recognizes the stifling impact of systemic injustice on diverse communities. We commit to using our influence to increase inclusion and equity within the tech industry. We strive to build an inclusive team culture, implement bias-free hiring practices, and develop community partnerships to expand our global impact.

Do you enjoy modernizing and maintaining existing software? Do you love the challenge of upgrading a big and critical system? Does reconstructing a database from the binary files without any documentation so you can integrate it with a modern framework sound like a fun challenge? Lead developers at Corgibytes, or Lead Code Whisperers as we call them, work directly with clients to help them migrate platforms, address security vulnerabilities, upgrade databases and infrastructure, integrate existing applications with obscure systems, and more. WHO WE ARE
Corgibytes is a boutique consultancy that specializes in modernizing software. Think of your favorite HGTV remodeling show, but with code. Our mission is to joyfully remodel software applications to be more stable, scaleable, and secure. We are actively working to create a world where software maintenance is celebrated, codebases are nurtured to provide lasting value, and our clients generate revenue, lower costs, and reduce risk as a result of our work.
Our founders are recognized thought-leaders in the world of software modernization, keynoting frequently at software conferences around the world, writing articles in respected periodicals, blogging about their ideas, and interviewing software leaders on their podcast. We encourage you to check out the community we founded over at Legacy Code Rocks! to connect with other folks who love software maintenance.
CULTURE AT CORGIBYTES
At Corgibytes, we approach our work through the lens of these core values:Act With Empathy: Listening and understanding is at the very heart of our culture and we consider empathy a critical technical skill. Consider the people who are impacted by your work: your clients, your users, your teammates, and even your future self. Adopt a Growth Mindset: Solving problems that seem intractable is a big part of what we do. Maintain an attitude of possibility, persevere through challenges, and commit to personal growth. Calm the Chaos: Complex problems require your prefrontal cortex to be engaged. Resist the temptation of an urgency-based culture by focusing on prevention instead of hot-fixes, prioritizing self-care, and developing a steady working rhythm. Choose Candor: Healthy conflict in a psychologically-safe environment is a critical component of a high-functioning team. We hold each other accountable and strengthen our work by challenging ideas respectfully and directly. Speak up and share your point of view, even when it’s hard. Communication is Just as Important as Code: Effective communication is our cultural glue and it is everyone’s job. Produce durable artifacts of your thinking and reject false dichotomies that present code and communication as separate things. No one is “technical” or “non-technical”; everyone is both. Craft in Context: Domain understanding is critical and working in a vacuum leads to problems. Before you leap to conclusions, take the time to understand the problem and match your solution to the situation.
We have a commitment outside of codebases as well. At Corgibytes, we’re really good at transforming broken systems. We modernize code through continuous improvement and marginal gains, and we apply these same practices to systems of social oppression. Similar to how technical debt makes a codebase difficult to work with, there are institutional barriers for some individuals that have accumulated over time. Blindly operating within these structures hurts people and prevents organizations from benefiting from the wide range of perspectives needed to thrive. There’s a lot of opportunity for improvement and we use our core values and our talents as menders to have a positive impact on our society.
Does this sound like you? Awesome! We live these values every day, and they’re a guide in making decisions, no matter how small. They’ve helped us develop a culture where folks are autonomous, responsible, and work hard without feeling burned out or like they have to choose between family and work. We’re the type of company where it’s common to see a toddler bouncing on a knee during a meeting. As an intentionally distributed team, we focus more on results than micromanagement. Our core values are key to our culture, as are our pillars of autonomy, balance, inclusion, and trust.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING:
- Adding value to existing software applications through modernization and maintenance by:Hunting for and squashing bugs Stabilizing infrastructures Adding test coverage Refactoring code Documenting findings Upgrading versions Paying down technical debt Integrating systems (which can sometimes be quite obscure) Addressing security vulnerabilities Migrating platforms Reducing complexity Improving CI/CD pipelines Solving complex architecture problems And other related activities
- Managing the cadence of work with outstanding communication and prioritization
- Finding solutions within client budgets
- Explaining technical recommendations in plain language
- Assessing code and providing executive-friendly actionable steps
- Providing feedback through pull requests and code reviews
- Helping other team members by pairing and having mob sessions
- Contributing to reports sent to clients to keep them informed and able to make decisions
- Providing daily stand-ups and weekly retrospectives to assigned clients
- Contributing to internal projects as needed
- Sharing experiences through the occasional article on the company blog
WHAT WE CONSIDER AN ASSET:Experience working in a growing company, leading a team, and/or being an entrepreneur Demonstrated ability of managing projects by prioritizing work to be performed and regularly negotiating scope, timeline, and budget Experience leading group programming sessions Joyfully discusses the philosophy and practices of modernizing software Deep familiarity with the content on the Corgibytes blog and podcast Commitment to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion Regularly shares technical knowledge and ideas by contributing to development communities, writing blog posts/articles, and/or speaking at conferences Education, certificates, or work experience in the areas of software development Experience as a mentor, having helped others grow in their career Familiarity with Brené Brown’s body of work Experience working on a remote team

We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, status as a parent, national origin, age, disability (visible or invisible), family medical history or genetic information, political affiliation, military service, or other non-merit based factors. We are KMTX, a fast growing AdTech company building the Ad Platform of the Open Web. We are working to provide the main advertising platform of the Open Web making it simple for anyone to run effective campaigns online. We believe this is the only way of preserving and improving the state of the Internet by making it open and fair. We’re targeting a $200B market.
As of today, Open Web advertising is a mess with unnecessary complexity, opacity, low respect of user privacy and poor performances for advertisers as well as publishers. This is what allows Walled Gardens (Google, Facebook, …) to dominate the online advertising market as they provide simple & efficient advertising platforms. A simple & efficient ad platform is necessary to value the Open Web, promote free access to information and fight the duopoly.
Since 2017, we’ve worked on the hardest part of creating the ad platform of the Open Web. An automated set of tools and technologies to buy advertising in real time while delivering strong performances for advertisers.
We’ve proved that our approach works with over 200 brands on more than 1500 campaigns and managed to consistently beat every advertising platform on the market. This success helped KMTX grow very quickly to an 8 figures revenue.
We are now building and deploying a self-served platform that aims to be “the Facebook Ads of the Open Web”. It allows advertisers to launch campaigns in less than 5 minutes on any inventory (Web, Apps, TV, ...) and deliver strong results for their brand. Simple & Efficient. This platform will be available for advertisers in Europe and North America.
KMTX was founded in 2017 by two serial tech entrepreneurs: Franck Tetzlaff (co founder of Doctolib) and Arthur Querou (co founder of MotionLead acquired by Adikteev).
We’ve raised $3m to date and plan to raise a significant round in the coming months.
We’re obsessed with meaningful, powerful tech and simplification for our users.
We have no fear of challenging the status quo when we believe it’s the right thing to do.
We believe that small increments don't drive change. Anything we do must be 10x better than what existed before.
This also applies to hiring. We hire people that are 10 times better than we are and whom we admire. People who want to build and achieve 10x challenges. Forward thinkers, who challenge the status quo, get out of their comfort zone, are not afraid to fail, have a high-level of self-awareness and expectation while parking their ego at the door.
We believe that a job should not be “just a job”, but an opportunity to grow. To perform at their best, our people should be happy and challenged. We want our people to evolve, learn, and grow in a pleasurable work environment.
We care a lot about autonomy and trust which we lead by example as being very flexible on work hours or on the missions you want to work. We’ll also always be pleased by and encourage employees taking initiatives.
We are as transparent as possible on what’s going on in the company and everyone in the company is always accessible. No hierarchy blocks.
Finally, we provide a suite of benefits and perks that we believe are meaningful to make the life of our employees better.
By combining blockchain technologies such as Ethereum and the Inter Planetary File System (IPFS), AKASHA has the potential to change the way ideas, thoughts and experiences are shared and stored on the Internet.
As part of our remote team distributed across the globe, you will work with some of the brightest minds in the blockchain tech space on unique and challenging ideas. You will also be in direct contact with the development and user community at large, actively participating in open discussions and brainstorming sessions.
Together with a group of independent thinkers hacking under the Swiss AKASHA Foundation umbrella, we are bravely experimenting with new technologies in the search for solutions that can transform the Web into an ecosystem in service of humanity.
On this note, we are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
What's meaningful to us is being a friendly, passionate person resonating with our purpose and genuinely interested in doing a phenomenal job towards a better world through technology, while also having fun along the way :)
We look forward to hearing from you! o/
